     2010 ARBA National Convention

November 7-11, 2010

Minneapolis, MN

Convention Website

The 2010 ARBA Convention at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is just around the corner.  Here is some information:

  • Place:  Minneapolis Convention Center in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.  1301 2nd Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN,  55403.

  • Date:  Nov. 7 - 11, 2010.

  • President:  Curt Rock    curtpaul@aol.com

  • General Information:  Go to ARBA.net and click on the Convention 2010 box on the left side, and you will reach the Convention site.

  • To order a catalog, call 715-467-2272.  Or send $13 to Patti Roloff at E1198 Haase Road, Waupaca, WI, 54981.  The catalog is invaluable if you are planning on, or thinking about going to Convention.

  • Hotels:  As of today, there are still rooms available at the Hyatt Regency Satin / Mini Satin host hotel, which is also the ARBA Headquarters.

Hyatt Regency

1300 Nicollet Mall

Minneapolis, MN  55403

1-800-233-1234, or 888-947-2233 (9am - 3pm), or 612-767-8200.

  • The Millennium Hotel is connected to the Hyatt Regency via the skyway running over Nicollet Mall (it's a street), and both are a short walk via the skyway, or outside if you prefer, to the Convention Center.

Millennium Hotel

1313 Nicollet Mall

Minneapolis, MN  55403

612-767-8200, or 888-947-2233 (9am - 3pm)

Both the Hyatt Regency and the Millennium are $129 per night.

If you are looking for other hotel options, you might want to consider a hotel close to downtown.  A great resource for other hotels and things to do is www.minneapolis.org or 1-888-676-MPLS.  If using the internet address, click hotels, then Minneapolis, then type in the keyword box 'downtown'.

  • Meals:  There are many great places to eat within easy walking distance of the Convention Center.  I will have a list of restaurants at our Satin booth.
  • The first RABBITCON held last year in San Diego was a huge success, and another RABBITCON will be offered in Minneapolis.  Information is in the catalog.
  • Shopaholics?  Here is your Mecca!!!  Check out the Mall of America (aka MOA).  The MOA boasts so many stores it's just crazy!    You can reach the MOA via light rail.
  • The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is 9 blocks from the Convention Center.  There are a limited number of tickets available to purchase for the Vikings football game at noon on Sunday, Nov. 7.  Call 320-597-2825.
  • Last of all, our awards chair Donald Sheets has worked hard at finding some very nice awards for Convention.  Thank you Donald and Committee, and to all the people who donated money towards our awards.
  • Mary Etnyre and Kris Kellor have the theme for our Satin Club Booth, I can't wait to see it!  Thank you Mary and Kris!
  • Remember to bring items for our raffle table at our booth.  Mary and Kris are in charge of the raffle.
  • Reminder:  At our National Satin Show this year, our club voted that we will have no Satin Banquet this year.
  • I'm sure that our Satin Superintendent, John McBride of MN,  Mini Satin Superintendent, Jason Lyons of WI, and Youth Superintendent, Justin Geske of WI, would appreciate any offers of help, especially on judging day!
  • Char and Kari Grossman and Jackie Marshall are our Show Secretaries for the Satin and Mini Satin breeds, respectively.  Thank you for volunteering to do this Char, Kari, and Jackie!
  • Robbie Wampner is our Auction Chair.  Please be generous if Robbie asks you to donate!  Thank you Robbie!
  • Have a fun at your Fall shows, get those Satins and Mini Satins out on the tables, and see you at Convention!
